On Friday, July 21st 2017, at about 12:31 P.M., the Anderson Police Department received a call for service regarding suspicious devices located in a storage unit. The storage unit had just recently been purchased through auction. The new owners of the storage unit had just begun going through the unit, when they discovered some suspicious looking devices.

Anderson Police Department responded to the storage unit and met with the owner of the business and the new owners of the unit. Anderson Police Officers on the scene determined the devices needed to be examined by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad. Anderson Police Officers set up a perimeter around the area. The Anderson Volunteer Patrol responded quickly an assisted in maintaining the perimeter.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded quickly to the scene and conducted an investigation and search of the storage unit. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad examined all the devices and materials and took some items from the storage unit for disposal. After the investigation was conducted it was determined the storage unit was safe and the perimeter was lifted.
