FLOOD WARNING
NWS OF NORTHERN INDIANA ISSUED FLOOD WARNING FOR NORTHERN PULASKI COUNTY UNTIL 1215 PM SATURDAY.
AT 1218 AM CDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN WHICH MAY CAUSE SMALL CREEKS, STREAMS AND DITCHES TO OVERFLOW. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS PARTS OF SOUTHWESTERN LAPORTE COUNTY INTO NORTHERN STARKE COUNTY. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED OVER THIS AREA AS WELL AS THE REMAINDER OF STARKE COUNTY INTO NORTHERN PULASKI. RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS, WHICH WILL CAUSE RAPID RUNOFF AND LOCALIZED FLOODING CONCERNS.

• TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.
• BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODING.
