Advisory
RED FLAG WARNING in our area today, 3pm to Midnight, for potential dry thunderstorms, gusty winds & high temperatures
The National Weather Service issues RED FLAG warnings when weather conditions could cause extreme fire danger. Isolated to Scattered wet and dry Thundersorms, gusty outflow winds, and hot and dry conditions are expected in our area. Winds could cause a wildland fire to grow quickly out of control.
Extreme caution is necessary including no open flames. Hot engines from weed eaters, mowers and chains saws can start fires. Campfires should be out and cold to the touch. Watch for dragging trailer chains which causes sparks. Report any smoke immediately to 911.
Everyone should have an evacuation plan to save time in the event of an evacuation. Think about what you will bring with you so you can move fast! Law Enforcement and Fire agencies will communicate any fire activity including evacuations though this Nixle system, reverse 911 and local media.
