Fire Breaks Out In Sierra Madre With No Current Threat To Monrovia
Earlier this afternoon, the Sierra Madre Fire Department responded to a fire that broke out along the Mount Wilson Trail in Sierra Madre. The fire has currently burned less than 0.5 acres and at this point in time has been contained by firefighting personnel. Importantly, there is no threat to Monrovia as a result of this fire! However, as a precaution, the City has closed both Canyon Park and the Hillside Wilderness Preserve for the remainder of the day. The Monrovia Fire Department will continue to monitor this situation, and if anything changes that may impact the safety of our community, the City will be certain to provide immediate notification at that time.
