Detwiler Fire- Additional Northern Mariposa County Evacuation Order Lifted

DETWILER FIRE:
ADDITIONAL EVACUATION ORDERS LIFTED
 
Evacuation orders for the following areas will be lifted for residents only, Thursday July 27, 2017 at 11:00AM
These areas will remain under advisory as there is still active fire in the area.
Evacuation Advisory- Issued alert to media and public of potential evacuation orders. General information of the incident and how to prepare.
 
Dogtown Rd
Texas Hill Rd
Greeley Hill Rd- Including all side roads on Greeley Hill Rd to Bull Creek Rd
Bondurant Mine Rd
Old Yosemite Rd
 
Travel Routes
Residents should be prepared to evacuate at a moment’s notice. Should an evacuation order be implemented the following travel routes should be utilized.
 
Texas Hill & Bondurant Mine Rd-Exit using Dogtown to Coulterville or Holtzel to Greeley Hill Rd
All side roads on Greeley Hill Rd- Exit using Greeley Hill Rd
 
Please be aware that Fire Crews are working on direct fire lines in the area. Please drive with caution as fire crews and heavy equipment remain in the area.

When you return home:
Be alert for downed power lines and other hazards. 
Check propane tanks, regulators, and lines before turning gas on.
Check your residence carefully for hidden embers or smoldering fires.
Contact 911 if any danger is perceived.
There may still be smoke in the respective areas as firefighters continue firefighting operations. If at anytime you feel unsafe, please call 911.
 
PG&E
As power is restored and communities are repopulated PG&E wants customers to know they are here to help. PG&E has additional employees in the areas damaged by fire to respond and support repopulation. Please call with any questions or concerns regarding electric service at 800.743.5000.
 
Mariposa County
Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office and Allied Agencies will have a heavy presence in the area to ensure the security and safety of resident and businesses. Due to the large amount of emergency equipment in the area, speed control will also be enforced.

SAFETY MESSAGE – The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. Please continue to adhere to road closures and any evacuation warnings.  If you see electrical wires on the ground, stay clear and contact PG&E immediately. Trees and poles with deep charring, particularly if still smoking, should be considered hazardous. Please drive slowly and yield to emergency personnel in the area. As you re-enter your property and evaluate damage, be aware that hazardous conditions may exist, particularly if a residence or out-building has burned. Hazards may include asbestos, heavy metals, by-products of plastic combustion and various other chemicals.
 
We encourage the public to remain prepared year-round for wildfires by visiting the www.readyforwildfire.org website. The best show of support is having your home and property “fire-ready”.
