The Blue Whale Challenge is No Game to Play warns Northfield Twp Police
The Blue Whale Challenge is No Game to Play
The “Blue Whale Challenge” is a dangerous challenge and the Northfield Township Police are warning parents and community members to monitor their children for signs they may be “taking the challenge”. The challenge is also known as “A silent House” or “Sea of Whales” and this online challenge reaches vulnerable individuals through social media. The below link explains the alarming challenge and shares the 50 unsafe tasks participants are encouraged to complete over 50 days. The Northfield Police remind parents to stay diligent in communicating with their children & teens, monitor online activity and recognize if they are completing challenge tasks – ie carving into their hand or foot, cutting their arm, watching horror videos all day, waking at 4:20am daily, engaging in risky behaviors, being secretive and/or showing an interest in whales. http://www.wxyz.com/news/local-news/investigations/parents-warned-of-deadly-blue-whale-challenge-that-ends-with-suicide
