The Southern Pines Police Department is requesting the assistance of the community in an attempt to identify a person and vehicle of interest following the passing of a counterfeit $100.00 bill. On June 26, 2017, at approximately 5:30 pm, a white female, 25-35 years of age wearing a black tank top and a red skirt used a counterfeit bill to make a payment for items at Lowes Foods located on Brucewood Road in Southern Pines. The female left the parking lot as a passenger in an older model pickup truck which was red with a white camper top. Anyone with information is asked to call the Southern Pines Police Department at 910-692-7031. Information can also be left anonymously and confidentially, by leaving a message on the department’s Crime Tip Line at 910-673-4110. Callers providing information do not need to identify themselves and will not be contacted.
