National Night Out
On August 1, 2017, over 70 officers from the Torrance Police Department participated in “National Night Out”. Department personnel visited 25 different locations throughout the city to interact with the community yesterday evening. The Torrance Police Department has promoted this event for over 16 years.
August 1, 2017 marks the 34th anniversary of National Night Out. NNO has proven to be an effective and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships across the nation. This event continues to be a great opportunity for community members, neighborhood watch members, and law enforcement officials to share in a great time.
This year’s theme for the Torrance Police Department focused on the expansion of social media, and its use in law enforcement. The Torrance Police Department continually seeks out innovative ways to remain engaged with the residents we serve.
The Torrance Police Department is grateful for community members and residents who hosted events throughout the city.
National Night Out is facilitated by the Torrance Police Department Community Affairs Division under the command of Torrance Police Captain Mark Underwood of the Patrol Bureau.
