-84 Westbound Nighttime Lane Closures & Impacts to Route 52 Expected, Orange County

Motorists are advised that lane closures are expected on Interstate 84 westbound in the vicinity of Exit 8 (Route 52) beginning at 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, until 5 a.m. on Sunday, August 6, while crews perform bridge repair work, weather permitting. Westbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane and detoured over the Interstate using the Exit 8 exit and entrance ramps while repairs are made to the bridge.

Traffic on Route 52 in the vicinity of Interstate 84 is also expected to be impacted during this time.

Motorists should anticipate delays, plan accordingly, and seek alternate routes where possible.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
