*Update* #LASD Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Deaths, 1100BLK S. Long Beach Bl., Compton
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of two men that occurred on Saturday, August 05, 2017, at 4:05 p.m. on the 1100 block of South Long Beach Boulevard, Compton.
Compton Station deputies responded to the motel parking lot regarding an “assault with a deadly weapon, gunshot victim” call. Upon their arrival, they learned that two male victims had been repairing their vehicle in the parking lot when the suspect vehicle pulled up next to the two victims. Two suspects exited the vehicle armed with firearms and began shooting at the victims. After the shooting, the suspects re-entered their vehicle and fled northbound on Long Beach Boulevard away from the scene.
The first victim, a 20 year-old, male Hispanic, sustained at least one gunshot wound to the torso.
The second victim, an 18 year-old, male Hispanic, sustained at least one gunshot wound to the body.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspects are described as two male Hispanic adults wearing dark clothing. The suspects’ vehicle is described as a silver 2000 Honda Civic. The vehicle was recovered a short distance from the scene.
The suspects remain outstanding at this time.
Investigators believe the shooting was gang related.
