| A 42-year-old Ventura resident was arrested for residential burglary after DNA evidence linked him to the crime, which occurred in October 2016 in the city of Thousand Oaks. On July 28, 2017, investigators with the Thousand Oaks Police Department arrested Andrew David Jensen for a residential burglary that occurred in the 2900 block of Cottonwood Court in October 2016. On October 7, 2016, deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to a residential burglary in the 2900 block of Cottonwood Court and processed the crime scene for evidence. They were able to locate items that potentially contained the suspect’s DNA. Forensic scientists assigned to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Forensic Services Bureau processed the evidence and obtained a DNA profile. Scientists submitted the results to the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) to locate a potential match with a known suspect. On July 25, 2017, the California Department of Justice notified Thousand Oaks detectives the DNA profile matched 42-year-old Andrew David Jensen. Jensen is currently in custody at the Sheriff’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility. Jensen’s bail is set at $70,000. |
