INCIDENT: Possession of Stolen Property and Felony Vehicle Pursuit

LOCATION: Fossil Bed Road and Irwin Road, Barstow

SUSPECT(S): Shaun Milazzo, 24 Years old, Lenwood

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: On August 6, 2017, at 11:42 am, sheriff's deputies from the Barstow Station and aviation units from both the Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol were dispatched to the area of Fossil Bed Road and Irwin Road to search for a stolen Penske truck. As deputies and officers arrived in the area and located the stolen Penske truck, the suspect Shaun Milazzo fled in a red pick-up truck. Deputies and Highway Patrol officers pursued the suspect for several miles while the suspect drove reckless on both dirt and paved roads trying to evade the officers. After a several minute pursuit, the suspect Shaun Milazzo stopped his vehicle and surrendered without further incident. Deputies recovered the stolen Penske truck valued at $60,000 and the victim's personal property inside the rental truck valued at about $75,000. Deputies also recovered property from the Penske truck inside the bed of the red truck Milazzo was driving. The victims confirmed the property located inside Milazzo’s red truck belong to them and it was removed from the Penske rental truck after it was stolen.
