The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

August 7th

0820 Hours: Officers Hogan and Taylor recovered a Chrysler van reported stolen out of Sacramento on the 38900 block of Larkspur Street. Officer Hogan contacted and arrested a 24 year old Fremont male for vehicle theft. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1151 Hours: Officer Hunter investigated a non-injury hit-and-run incident at the EZ-8 Motel, 5555 Cedar Court.

1436 Hours: Officer Hogan contacted and arrested a 45 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrant on the 6300 block of Escallonia Drive. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1600 Hours: Officer Khairy investigated a burglary on 38500 block of Rockrose Court. The loss is jewelry.

1603 Hours: Officer Jackman investigated an auto burglary at 24 Fitness, 2086 Newpark Mall. The loss is an Apple Laptop, backpack and clothing.

1646 Hours: Officer Hogan contacted and arrested a 67 year old transient male for shoplifting at Macys, NewPark Mall. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

2104 Hours: Officer Norvell contacted and arrested a 43 year old Pleasanton male for petty theft at Macys, NewPark Mall. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

0058 Hours: Officer Smith investigated the theft of a white 1995 Acura Integra (License # 6KRE998) on the 36600 block of Charles Street.

0331 Hours: Officer Khairy recovered a Honda Accord reported stolen out of Fremont at Taco Bell, 5684 Thornton Avenue. The registered owner was notified of the recovery.
