Mark James Wilson of Newberry Springs arrested for kidnapping and carjacking.

SUMMARY:
On Thursday, August 10, 2017, at approximately 11:15 a.m., deputies from the Barstow Sheriff's Station went to the 35000 block of Ghost Town Road in Yermo. Sheriff's Dispatch received information from the reporting party that the male subject, later identified as Mark James Wilson, and the victim were fighting in the parking lot of the Yermo Chevron gas station. The reporting party told dispatch, Wilson tried to force the victim into the vehicle. Wilson was observed hitting the victim several times and pulled her hair, then fled the gas station in the victim's vehicle.
Deputies contacted the victim at the Chevron gas station. The victim had visible injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Deputies checked the surrounding area for Wilson and the vehicle with negative results.
Deputies and detectives assigned to the Barstow Sheriff's Station located Wilson at his place of residence. He was taken into custody without incident and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for kidnapping, carjacking, and violation of parole. Wilson is being held without bail. The victim's stolen vehicle was located and returned to her.
