On 08/12/17, at approximately 11:37 PM, the Chula Vista Police Department responded to a fatal traffic collision involving two vehicles, a Mini cooper and a Chevy Pick-up truck at the intersection of East H Street and Paseo Del Rey. Responding Officers found two male occupants of the Mini Cooper with serious injuries. Officers, along with Medical, and Fire personnel rendered immediate medical aid at the scene. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the passenger (30 yrs) of the Mini Cooper later died from his injuries at the hospital. The driver of the Mini Cooper sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevy Silverado Pick-Up truck sustained minor injuries.

It is believed alcohol may have been a factor in this traffic collision. The Chula Vista Police Departments Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
