Calimesa Homicide Press Release 
On August 12, 2017, at 11:10pm, officers from the Calimesa Police Department responded to a shooting at a mobile home park located on the 35000 block of Chandler Avenue. Officers arrived and found an adult female lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. An adult male, later identified as 61-year-old, Rex Edwards of Calimesa, was immediately identified as a suspect and detained at the scene.
Based on the circumstances, the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and investigators from the Calimesa Police Department responded and assumed the investigation which led to the arrest of Rex Edwards for homicide. The name of the victim will be withheld until family is notified.
