* Flood Warning for... Northern Clay County in south central Nebraska... Northeastern Adams County in south central Nebraska... York County in east central Nebraska... Hamilton County in south central Nebraska... Northern Fillmore County in south central Nebraska... Merrick County in central Nebraska... Polk County in east central Nebraska... Hall County in south central Nebraska...
* Until 745 PM CDT Wednesday
* As of 8 AM CDT Wednesday, Doppler radar indicated that much of the warned area had received at least 2 to 4 inches of rain since late Tuesday afternoon, with locally higher amounts of 5 to 7 inches. These highest amounts mainly concentrated within Polk County, and also northeastern Adams, southeastern Hall and southern Hamilton counties.
* Although most of the warning area is only expected to see only one-half inch or less of additional rain through the rest of today, with dry weather expected overnight and Thursday, fairly extensive flooding of local creeks, streams, low-lying areas and some rural roads will likely continue into at least this evening.
* Some locations that could experience flooding include... Grand Island, Hastings, York, Aurora, Central City, Stromsburg, Harvard, Henderson, Osceola, Doniphan, Juniata, Shelby, Alda, Hampton, McCool Junction, Clarks, Silver Creek, Giltner, Polk and Phillips. Some of the creeks and rivers likely to experience some degree of flooding include, but are not limited to... Lincoln Creek...Big Blue River...Davis Creek...Clear Creek...Beaver Creek...Flessner Creek...West Fork Big Blue River...Prairie Creek. Please note, this areal Flood Warning replaces previously issued warnings that were either in effect until 11 AM or 1 PM CDT.
