On 08/16/17, at approximately 5:48 AM, the Chula Vista Police Department received several 911 calls reporting that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Main Street near the Interstate 805 southbound off-ramp. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an adult male had been struck by his own vehicle that was disabled in the intersection due to an earlier collision.
Approximately 10 minutes prior, the victim was driving a Ford Mustang and exiting I-805 onto Main Street. An Infiniti G35 was traveling westbound on Main Street and struck the Ford Mustang. The Ford Mustang became disabled in the middle of the intersection while the Infiniti was able to park off the roadway. As the victim was standing outside his vehicle and looking for his pertinent information, the Ford Mustang was struck by Honda CRV that was traveling westbound on Main Street. The victim was stuck by his own vehicle and landed in the roadway. The victim sustained traumatic injuries to his head and was transported to UCSD Medical Center to be treated.
The drivers were not under the influence of alcohol/drugs at the time of the collision.
