Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for 8/16/2017.
Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office for 8/16/2017.
-6300 blk E. FM 597, Anton: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance between employees of a roofing business while on a job site. The employees left the area before deputies arrived. After speaking with all parties, no offenses occurred as the disturbance was verbal only.
-2600 blk Robert Lee, Levelland: Welfare Check. Deputies were dispatched to check welfare on family members at a residence in the area. Contact was made and no concerns were noted on scene. No offenses were observed or reported.
-300 blk Badger, Whitharral: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle driving around Whitharral. The vehicle was located by a deputy and the occupants were local high school students. No offenses were reported.
-100 blk 6th St, Whitharral: Animal Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to a loose dog in the area. The owner was located and the dog was secured.
-600 blk Koala Rd, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a call of a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. A female resident reported a male subject refused to leave the residence. Based on the circumstances, a report was taken for Violation of a Protective Order and the matter is under investigation. It was determined the male subject was restricted from going to the residence due to an active protective order.
-6300 blk Mongoose Rd, Ropesville: Loose Livestock. A deputy was notified of loose cattle in the area. A property owner in the area aided by securing the cattle on his property until the rightful owner could be located. As of this morning, we have no new reports of lost livestock. Deputies will follow up to locate the owner.
-FM 1585 at Chickadee Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A caller reported a vehicle parked near a business in the area. Deputies received a description of a red passenger car, and searched the area for the vehicle. The vehicle was gone prior to arrival of deputies. The business was checked and no offenses were observed or reported.
-6400 blk Colorado Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to a call of a possible illegal activity at a property in the area. The caller claimed drugs were on the property. The property owner was contacted and deputies checked the property and did not locate any illegal activity or contraband.
-16th St at Avenue S, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a loose horse. The horse was located and the owner was contacted. The horse was secured by the deputy and the owner.
-3200 blk Quail Rd, Smyer: Assault. Deputies responded to a reported assault that occurred at a residence in the area. Based on the observations of deputies, and the totality of the circumstances, a female subject was placed under arrest for Assault Family Violence and transported to the jail. Information and witness statements were collected at the scene.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, and patrols in all areas of the county.
