The Dirty Dancing Festival will begin Friday evening and run through Saturday evening (8/18 & 8/19). This festival normally brings great crowds and from what we've heard from the Chamber, this should be the largest yet. It's a great festival to attend and enjoy.

With this in mind, please know that there will be heavy traffic around the lake, the Town Hall, Lake Lure Marina and Morse Park as well as Chimney Rock. Traffic may be backed up on Memorial Highway through the downtown section. There will be increased pedestrian traffic as well in this area and we ask that you drive slowly, be alert and use caution.

We would also like to remind you that should you be in traffic and you hear and see an emergency vehicle approaching, by state law, you are to move as far to the right side of the roadway as possible and stop.
