The National Weather Service in Hastings has extended the
* Flood Warning for... Northwestern Clay County in south central Nebraska... York County in east central Nebraska... Hamilton County in south central Nebraska... Polk County in east central Nebraska...
* Until 745 PM CDT Friday
* As of 3 PM CDT, information from a variety of sources including emergency management officials, a National Weather Service employee surveying flooding, and automated river gauges indicated that minor flooding continued within various portions of the warned area.
* In Polk County, several rural roads remained closed. Minor flooding continued along the Davis Creek, along the Clear Creek in the northern part of the county and along the Big Blue River mainly south of Shelby.
* In both Hamilton County and York County, minor flooding was reported along both the Lincoln Creek and the Beaver Creek in the Aurora and York areas.
* Along the West Fork Big Blue River in northwestern Clay, southern Hamilton and southern York counties, the river was reportedly near- bankfull, with some minor flooding noted in spots. Although truly impactful flooding is not currently expected along the West Fork Big Blue, interested parties are encouraged to monitor trends this evening into Friday.
* Some communities that could still experience flooding, mainly in surrounding rural areas, include... York, Aurora, Stromsburg, Henderson, Osceola, Shelby, Hampton, McCool Junction, Giltner, Bradshaw, Waco, Benedict, Gresham, Stockham, Lushton and Thayer.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CLAY ... HAMILTON ... POLK ... YORK

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.
