Fire Pump Tests Scheduled for Aug. 22 and Aug. 23
A fire pump test is scheduled for the Hampton Inn, 2350 E. Griggs Ave., at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22. The test may cause discolored water for utility customers from Spruce Avenue to Missouri Avenue between Solano Drive and Telshor Boulevard.
A second fire pump test is scheduled for Mountain View Regional Medical Center, 4311 E. Lohman Ave., at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23. The testing may cause discolored water east or Roadrunner Parkway from Sonoma Springs Avenue to Paseo de Oñate
Residents and businesses in both areas may notice discolored water due to iron and manganese. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24-hours. If it does not, customers should flush outside and/or cold-water faucets for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at 526-0500 for assistance.
