The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of Southeast Texas and southeast Texas...including
the following counties...in Southeast Texas...Jackson. In
southeast Texas...Austin...Brazoria...Brazos...Burleson...
Chambers...Colorado...Fort Bend...Galveston...Grimes...
Harris...Houston...Liberty...Madison...Matagorda...
Montgomery...Polk...San Jacinto...Trinity...Walker...Waller...
Washington and Wharton.
* Through Wednesday evening
* Periods of heavy rainfall are likely as rainbands from Harvey
move across the area. Event rainfall totals through Wednesday
evening are expected to be 15 to 30 inches with isolated maximum
amounts of 40 inches. The greatest rainfall threat area is
expected to be generally along and south of a line from College
Station to Livingston. Rainfall of this magnitude will cause
catastrophic and life-threatening flooding.
* The Flash Flood Watch could be extended beyond Wednesday
evening.
* Before traveling, check road conditions with Texas Department
of Transportation, Houston TranStar, or other trusted sources.
Rainfall of this magnitude could cause major flooding of the
highway system.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
