Modesto, CA – Officers are investigating a traffic collision that claimed the life of a Modesto man.
At about 2:52 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of an injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Prescott Road and Cheyenne Way. The motorcyclist, identified as 33-year-old David Corchado of Modesto, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The early investigation indicates that the motorcycle was southbound on Prescott Road in the #1 lane and entered the intersection at the same time a Toyota Tacoma was in the intersection from westbound Cheyenne Way. The driver of the Tacoma has been identified as John Nicolodi, 69 of Modesto, he was not injured in the collision.
As standard practice in a fatal vehicle collision, the Modesto Police Department Traffic Unit has initiated a comprehensive collision investigation. This investigation is in the early stages and physical evidence is being thoroughly evaluated before any collision factor or cause will be determined. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
