Water Outage Planned for Next Week 
Residents and businesses in the area of Lohman Avenue to Montana Avenue and Luna Street to Chaparro Street, may experience water outages from Monday, Sept. 11 through Monday, Sept. 18.
Outages will occur between the hours of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day that work is being performed by Utilities crews.
The outages will allow the City of Las Cruces Water Section to install multiple 6” distribution valves from Colorado Avenue to Idaho Avenue along Solano Drive. The valves are broken and need to be replaced for future maintenance and repairs to the city water system. The Water Section Staff will distribute door hangers to businesses expected to be affected by the water outages.
The affected areas will include:
· Solano Dr. between Lohman Ave. and Montana Ava.
· Solano Dr. between Luna St. and Chaparro St.
Area residents may notice discolored water due to iron and manganese. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24-hours. If it does not, residents should flush outside and/or cold-water faucets in the house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at 526-0500 for assistance. The TTY number is: 575/541-2182
