This is an advisory message from the Town of Lake Lure:
Hurricane Irma is forecast to bring heavy rains to the Lake Lure area in the coming days. As a result, we expect the Lake to rise significantly in a brief period.
As a precautionary measure, we will be drawing the lake down as much as 3 ft below full pond by Sunday morning, with a possibility for further reductions depending on the strength and track of the storm. You're strongly encouraged to make preparations around your home or business and to attend to your boat moorings by Saturday morning at the latest.
