The Southern Pines Police Department is requesting the assistance of the community in an attempt to identify a person, and vehicle of interest, following a larceny that occurred at Kangaroo Express on Beverly Lane in Southern Pines. On September 5th, 2017, at approximately 6:57 pm, a black male, wearing a black T-shirt and black jeans entered the store and removed several lottery scratch off tickets from behind the counter while the clerk was distracted. Later, this same person cashed in two of the stolen tickets at Circle K located on Juniper Lake Road in Taylortown. In both locations, Kangaroo Express and Circle K, this person of interest was driving a white in color four door SUV.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Southern Pines Police Department at 910-692-7031. Information can also be left anonymously and confidentially, by leaving a message on the department’s Crime Tip Line at 910-673-4110. Individuals providing information to the Crime Tip Line will not be contacted.
