Highway 9 near 1912 which is just north of Gold Anchor Lane, south of Crooked Creek Rd will be closed until sometime tomorrow. A tree came down due to winds bringing power lines down and breaking at least one pole. As of 10pm Duke Energy does not have an estimated time to begin repairs and with their lines involved the fire department is unable to clear the roadway. Duke also advised this is what is causing power outages south of this location. Please direct any questions or concerns over this to Duke Energy at 1-800-769-3766 not Broad River Fire Department. We have modified our response plans and for mutual aid departments to be dispatched in the event of an emergency.
