Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for 9/15/17 through 9/17/17.

Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 9/15/17, through Sunday, 9/17/17.

9/15/17

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Fraud Complaint. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a possible fraud complaint. The issue is being investigated and a report was taken on the matter.

-100 blk E. Richardson, Sundown: Assist Sundown PD. Deputies were dispatched to assist Sundown PD on a scene in the area related to a deceased individual. Sundown PD handled the investigation.

-4200 blk Kingfisher Rd, Ropesville: Check Welfare. Deputies responded to a residence at the request of Lubbock law enforcement to attempt to locate an individual picked up in Lubbock. Contact was made at the residence, and the resident advised the persons lived in Lubbock. No contact, and no offenses reported.

-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Assist Other Agency. Deputies responded to the area related to a possible vehicle crash. Troopers arrived on scene and worked the crash scene.

9/16/17

-6800 blk Parrot Rd, Roopesville: Alarm. A deputy was dispatched to an alarm at a business in the area. The area was checked and no one was located. The deputy also met with an employee, who verified the property was secured.

-600 blk Tarver, Anton: Disturbance. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a verbal disturbance between family members. The disturbance was reported to be verbal only and parties were separated. No offenses were reported.

-300 blk Duke, Anton: Disturbance. A deputy responded to a reported disturbance at a residence. The deputy met with both parties, as well as witnesses, and no offenses were reported. The disturbance was reported to be verbal only and parties were separated.

-Hwy 385 at Tennessee Rd, Anton: Fire. A deputy responded to assist at the scene of a fire. Traffic control was provided.

-FM 597 at Lincoln Rd, Pep: Fire. A deputy responded to a fire in the area. Traffic control was provided.

-1600 blk Austin, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies were requested to assist at a disturbance at a residence in the area. Levelland PD handled the investigation, and deputies cleared when the scene was secured.

-3100 blk Owl Rd, Smyer: Shots Fired. Deputies were dispatched to the area related to possible shots fired. Deputies spoke to several residents in the area and no one reported hearing any gun shots.

-3100 blk Owl Rd, Smyer: Loose Livestock. Deputies, while in the area related to another call, located several head of cattle loose in the area. The cattle were secured on a resident’s property until the owner is located.

9/17/17

-FM 2130 at Hwy 84, Anton: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a call of loose cattle in the area. The owner was located and the cattle were secured.

-300 blk W. 4th St, Sundown: Asisst Sundown PD. A deputy responded to assist with a reported assault at a residence. Sundown PD handled the investigation.

-800 blk N. Alamo Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to a complaint about someone entering a residence without permission. The deputy met with the homeowner, who stated he believed someone had been watching him from a field in the area and possibly entered his residence. The residence was searched, as well as the area around the home. No signs of forcible entry were located. Close patrol on the area.

-Avenue S at 16th St, Levelland: Loose Livestock. Deputies responded to the area related to loose horses. The owner was located and the horses were secured.

-900 blk 2nd St, Smyer: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding an elderly individual needing assistance. Deputies located a caretaker and left the individual into her care.

-400 blk N. College, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies were requested to assist with a combative subject. Levelland PD took the individual into custody and deputies assisted with transport to the jail.

-700 blk 4th St, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence. During the investigation it was determined a male subject made threats toward another member in the residence. The male subject was placed under arrest for Terroristic Threat and transported to the jail.

-100 blk Leon Rd, Smyer: Structure Fire. Deputies were dispatched to assist the Fire Department with a fire in the area. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and investigators are working with the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Deputies conducted close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow up activities, civil process service, and patrols in areas of the county.
