Suspected Vehicle Thief Arrested After Attempting to Flee
On Saturday night, September 16, 2017, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the area of Crenshaw Boulevard and 182nd Street. Upon attempting to stop the vehicle, a pursuit ensued. Officers attempted a PIT maneuver, but the vehicle continued to flee.
A short time later, Officers were ultimately able box in the vehicle in the area of Yukon Avenue and 182nd Street. The lone occupant, Jacob Strunk 23 yrs of Redondo Beach, was subsequently arrested for vehicle theft, evading, and possession of burglary tools.
Strunk also had an active arrest warrant for vehicle theft.
Strunk has a felony conviction and eight misdemeanor convictions from crimes such as: narcotics possession, weapons, theft, and resisting.
This investigation was conducted under the command and direction of Torrance Police Captain Martin Vukotic of the Special Operations Bureau.
