FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
September 20, 2017

The Southern Pines Police Department:
Announces Graduation from the FBI National Academy
Deputy Chief Nick Polidori

On September 15, 2017, two hundred and twenty-four law enforcement officers graduated from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia. The 269th Session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 48 states. Included in the class were members of law enforcement agencies from the District of Columbia, 22 international countries, five military organizations and six federal civilian organizations. Deputy Chief Nick Polidori, a 21 year veteran of the Southern Pines Police Department, was among the graduates of the 269th Session FBI National Academy.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. On average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions. FBI Associate Deputy Director David Bowdich was the principal speaker at the ceremony.

Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.

The graduating officers were represented by the class spokesperson, Marco Gonzalez, Lieutenant, New York City Police Department, New York, New York. A total of 50,365 graduates now represent the alumni of the FBI National Academy since it began in 1935.

Chief Bob Temme offered the following comments congratulating Deputy Chief Nick Polidori:

“The Southern Pines Police Department recognizes, and values, the importance of training at all levels of the organization. Skill, competence, and insight, are all products of effective training and play an invaluable role in how law enforcement agencies deliver services and conduct investigations. In an increasingly complex and sophisticated society, there needs to be parallel increases in levels of education and training. I can think of no better law enforcement officer than Deputy Chief Nick Polidori to join this elite group of law enforcement professionals. Our community should be equally proud as I am, as they are the ultimate recipients of Deputy Chief Polidori’s resolve and commitment.”
