(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man has been arrested in connection to theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Douglas Page Bickle, 36, of Gadsden, is charged with one count of third degree burglary and one count of third degree theft of property, which is a felony,” Lt. Robin Grant said.

Bickle confessed to breaking into a convenience store located on Highway 77, Attalla, and stealing cartons of cigarettes, lighters, tobacco grinders and glass pipes. He was seen crawling through broken glass of the front door by a newspaper delivery man, who then called 9-1-1.

With the description given by the witness and through other evidence found at the scene, Sgt. Paul Williams and Deputy Eric Johns were able to identify and quickly locate Bickle. All of the stolen items were recovered and given back to the store owner.

Bickle was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on $4,000 bond.
