Custody Interference Arrests
(Etowah County, Alabama) Two Etowah County individuals have been arrested in connection to interference with custody, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Travis Jeremiah Talton, 23, of Gadsden, was arrested on September 18th, and is charged with two counts of interference with custody, a felony, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.
Talton was allowing a 17 year-old female runaway to stay with him at a residence on Highway 411, Gadsden. He was arrested and shortly released on bond the same day.
After law enforcement returned the runaway to her legal guardian Talton picked up the juvenile again, just hours later, to smoke methamphetamine with the minor.
Talton was arrested for a second time and is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond.
Brandi Bigbee, 36, of Gadsden, was also arrested and charged with two counts of interference with custody and one count of chemical endangerment to a child, all are felonies.
Bigbee, the juvenile’s biological mother, was with Talton when he picked up the juvenile for a second time. She was also living at the residence on Highway 411, Gadsden, and participating in the smoking of methamphetamine with the minor.
She is being held on $18,000 bond. As a condition of her bond, Bigbee is to have no contact with the juvenile and will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections.
Deputy Josh Gaskin assisted with this case.
