On 9/25/2017 at approximately 1605 hours, a Kern County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol in Rosamond attempted to contact a subject near the Chevron at 25th Street West and Rosamond Boulevard. The suspect, later identified as Raul Garcia (24 from Mojave), ran from the deputy. The deputy chased the suspect until other deputies arrived. The subject attempted to hide under a truck then ran into the business and was taken into custody as he attempted to run out of another door. Deputies later recovered a loaded firearm from the business that the suspect hid while he was running. The suspect was walking with two suitcases that were also later determined to be from a burglary that had just occurred in a nearby neighborhood. Garcia was booked into the Mojave jail for burglary, parole violation, possession of a loaded firearm, resisting arrest and other charges.
