Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 9/28/2017.

-Hwy 114 at Owl Rd, Smyer: Loose Livestock. A deputy was notified of loose cattle along the roadway in the area. The cattle were located and secured with the owner.

-3900 blk FM 300, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies assisted with a two vehicle crash in the area. No injuries were reported and Troopers worked the crash scene. Deputies were on scene until the roadway was cleared.

-100 blk Lawrence, Anton: Alarm. A deputy responded to a residence related to an alarm call. The activation was accidental and no offenses were reported or observed.

-6000 blk E. Hwy 114, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 114. Deputies provided traffic control and stayed on scene until the roadway was clear.

-1400 blk W. Ellis, Levelland: Alarm. Deputies responded to a reported alarm at a residence in the area. It was determined to be weather related. No offenses were reported or observed.

-Veretto Rd at E. Ellis, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy as notified of a complaint about care of a dog. The dog had adequate food, water, and access to shelter. No offenses were reported.

-2300 blk E. Ellis, Levelland: Animal Complaint. Deputies responded to a report of a loose dog in the area. When the deputy arrived the dog was secured.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a minor disturbance in the jail between two inmates. Deputies assisted jail staff by separating the inmates. The incident was documented by deputies and jail staff.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols around the county, investigative follow up activities, and civil process service.

Jail Population as of 9/29/17 at 0800 hours: 49 in Hockley County; 7 out of county
