Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a female adult that occurred on Friday, September 29, 2017 at approximately 10:40 a.m.
Detectives have learned that Lakewood Station deputies working within the city of Artesia responded to a hotel in the 16900 block of Pioneer Boulevard regarding a call of a female not breathing. Upon arriving they were directed to a hotel room where a woman had been discovered unresponsive. The woman, who appeared to be of Asian descent and in her mid-thirties, was observed lying inside the room unconscious. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel on scene pronounced the woman dead.
It appeared the woman suffered traumatic injury from an assault resulting in her death. It is unknown at this point in the investigation if a weapon was used.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no suspect information at this time.

On Friday, September 29, 2017, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the 16900 block of Pionner Boulevard in the city of Artesia to investigate the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a woman.
The victim, a female adult, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no suspect information at this time.
