Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 9/29/17, through Sunday, 10/1/17.
9/29/17
-500 blk FM 1490, Levelland: Welfare Check. Deputies were dispatched to check welfare of a child in the residence. Contact was made with occupants; no offenses were reported or observed.
-FM 41 at Ellington, Ropesville: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to assist with a vehicle crash in the area. Traffic control and assistance was provided to Troopers and Ropesville ISD Police, and deputies stayed on scene until the roadway was cleared.
-100 blk FM 2130, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence in the area. Both parties advised there were no injuries and declined to pursue any charges. Parties were separated and information for a report was collected.
-FM 301 at Blackgold Rd, Sundown: Welfare Check. A deputy responded to the area to attempt to locate and check welfare of a female subject walking along FM 301. Deputies checked the area and did not locate anyone.
-800 blk Lovebird Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Person. A deputy was dispatched to the area to locate a suspicious person. The deputy contacted several individuals removing a vehicle from a muddy roadway. They advised they made a wrong turn and were headed back to Hwy 114.
-Hwy 114 at Topeka Rd, Levelland: Reckless Driver. Deputies were notified of a reckless driver leaving Cochran County headed toward Levelland. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
9/30/17
-FM 303 at Jamaica Rd, Petit: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a call of loose cattle in the area. A calf was located roaming and was secured.
-Hwy 114 near Richmond Rd, Levelland: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to check welfare of a male subject walking along Hwy 114. The individual was located and no suspicious circumstances or offenses were observed. The individual was identified and released.
-Hwy 84 at FM 2130, Anton: Disabled Vehicle. Deputies were notified of a possible vehicle fire on Hwy 84 east of Anton. The vehicle was disabled and off the roadway.
-100 blk W. McAllen, Sundown: Assist Sundown PD. A deputy responded to assist with a physical domestic disturbance at a residence in the area. Sundown PD arrested one individual and transported to the jail for Assault.
-FM 303 at Justin Rd, Sundown: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to a possible abandoned vehicle in the area. It was observed the vehicle appeared to have been involved in a crash. Troopers responded to conduct a crash investigation. The scene was turned over to Troopers and deputies assisted until the roadway was cleared.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy was requested to contact a complainant by telephone regarding a civil matter involving child custody. Civil remedies were advised.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy was dispatched to contact a complainant by telephone regarding an issue involving damage to a vehicle. The vehicle was reportedly involved in a crash and the caller stated the tow company caused damage. Civil remedies were advised.
-500 blk Sylvan, Anton: Suspicious Activity. A caller advised deputies that a vehicle was repeatedly circling the area near a residence. The deputy was in the area when the call was received and checked the surrounding area. No vehicles matching the description given were located.
-FM 597 at Hwy 84, Anton: Disabled Vehicle. A deputy stopped to check status on a vehicle parked in the area. The vehicle appeared to be disabled and the roadway was clear.
-1500 blk 10th St, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted with a stolen vehicle recovery in the area. Levelland PD handled the case report.
-900 blk Avenue H, Levelland: Disturbance. A deputy witnessed a verbal disturbance in the area. No offenses were reported by either party and the incident was handled by separation.
-FM 2130 at FM 2641, Anton: Civil Issue. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a child custody issue. Parties stated terms of custody under court orders, and civil remedies were explained to parties. No offenses were reported or observed.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 10/2/17 at 0800 hours: 56 in Hockley County, 1 to be processed, and 6 out-of-county.
