A Message from Mayor John Duthie

Williams/Transco, the operator of the natural gas compression station in Roseland hosted an invitation only meeting wherein they announced that they will be seeking federal approval to expand their operations at their facility in Roseland. At the subject meeting, the borough requested that Williams/Transco attend an upcoming council meeting to disclose their plans in an open and public forum. Williams/Transco has advised that they will attend a council meeting at a later date after they file their application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Federal agency that regulates gas compression facilities. We expect to hear back from Williams/Transco with a meeting date in early 2018. At that time we will notify our residents of the date, time, and location of the proposed meeting The borough is in the process of crafting a resolution requesting Williams/Transco share their plans at a local open public meeting and directing any interested party to contact their elected officials at the federal level to urge Williams/Transco to fully discuss and explain their expansion plans and openly discuss the potential implications that their prospective expansion could have on our borough and the surrounding communities.
