Flash Flood Warning until 02:15PM

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Troup County in west central Georgia...

* Until 215 PM EDT

* At 817 AM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists estimated that 1 to 4 inches of rain has fallen across parts of southwest Troup County. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain will be possible in the warned area over the next few hours. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lagrange, West Point, Hogansville, Mountville, Cannonville, Big Springs, Louise, Abbottsford, Smiths Crossroad and Long Cane.

* AFFECTED AREAS: TROUP

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
