Planned Water Outage Near Main Street and Solano Construction Area 
A water outage is planned for the area of Mesquite Street, N. Solano Drive, N. Main Street, 3 Crosses Avenue and E. Madrid. The Outage will begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, and possibly extend through 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
The outage will take place to allow the City of Las Cruces Water Section to install an 8” distribution valve, to minimize any additional water supply issue associated with the Main Street/US70 Phase II Project.
City staff will distribute door hangers to customers expected to be affected.
Residents may notice discolored water due to iron and manganese. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24-hours. If it does not, residents should flush outside and/or cold-water faucets in the house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at 526-0500 for assistance.
