Update on Fire Situation in Sonoma Valley and City of Sonoma
This is an update on fire situation in Sonoma Valley and City of Sonoma as of 9am on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
The City of Sonoma’s Emergency Operations Center is open and operational. We are coordinating our response with County of Sonoma.
The mandatory evacuation areas are still in effect. The mandatory evacuation areas are:
• Kenwood community
• Glen Ellen community
• Sonoma Developmental Center, Madrone Road and Sobre Vista neighborhood
• Cavedale Road and Trinity Road
• Wall Road (Napa Co)
• Norrbom Road and Mission Highlands area
• Gehricke Road
• Lovall Valley Road and Wood Valley Road east of Old Winery Road
We understand that residents from these areas want to check on their property, so we will we be evaluating these locations throughout the day and lift the mandatory evacuations if possible.
The Sonoma Community Center is open and registering volunteers.

Fire personnel are still actively fighting fires; primarily in the area of Cavedale/Trinity Roads, Norrbom Road and Nelligan Road in the greater Sonoma Valley.
We will send additional updates as new information becomes available.
