Advisory

Unless conditions change, the Evacuation Center at Analy High School will close tomorrow. No donations are needed.

Dear Friends,

After consultation with the Red Cross, the Santa Rosa Police, the Santa Rosa Emergency Operations Center, and with the concurrence and support of the Sonoma County Director of Emergency Operations, we are moving forward with plans to close the Analy High School Evacuation Center at noon tomorrow.

We are doing this, primarily, to insure that all evacuees have access to the full resources of the Red Cross. Our shelter is not affiliated with anyone; it is a joint cooperative effort between Analy High School, the Sebastopol Police, and Community groups and members. We do not have access to lodging vouchers, supply streams and coordination like Red Cross and the Salvation Army, and capacity to accept and process donations.

Currently, there is substantial capacity at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds for able-bodied evacuees. There is not capacity at the Santa Rosa Veterans' Memorial Building where those with medical, mobility, or other challenges are staying.

Today about 3:15pm, it was announced to those staying at Analy High School that, if they are able-bodied, they are welcome to head to the Fairgrounds whenever they'd like. They were told they could leave now, leave this evening after dinner, leave tomorrow morning or any time prior to noon. Those who aren't able-bodied were asked to remain at Analy while the County works to increase capacity at the Veterans' Memorial Building for those with medical, mobility, or other challenges.

At this point, the Analy Evacuation Center DOES NOT need any more donations of anything. They have, in essence, stopped accepting donations. The Community Disaster Response Team is sorting the donations they've received so they can be transfer to the Santa Rosa shelters tomorrow.

Unfortunately, this afternoon has seen a substantial flair up of fire activity in Oakmont, Windsor near Faught and Shiloh Road, east of Jack London State Park, and in the area of Annadel State Park toward eastern Santa Rosa and northward toward Sugarloaf State Park.

Should this increased fire activity warrant keeping the shelter at Analy open beyond noon tomorrow, that can be accomplished.

Hessel Church, St. Stephen's Church, and the Sebastopol Community Church are all open and willing to accept evacuees. Please contact those places of worship directly for specifics on what services they are able to provide.
