Bank Robbery Solved within Days

On Monday, October 2, 2017, at about 3 p.m., a male suspect entered Opus Bank located at 23600 Hawthorne Boulevard and passed a note to the bank teller demanding money; reports indicate the suspect successfully gained thousands of dollars.

Opus Bank Investigators and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations partnered with Torrance Police detectives to solve the case.  Through this collaboration, it was determined the teller was actually an accomplice, specifically the suspect’s girlfriend.  The investigation also led officials to recover a portion of the stolen money.

This investigation was conducted under the command and direction of The Federal Bureau of Investigations and Torrance Police Captain Martin Vukotic of the Special Operations Bureau.
