Deputies arrest three suspects for possession of a stolen vehicle after reviewing surveillance footage

INCIDENT: Possession of stolen vehicle and Fraudulent use of access card
LOCATION: 14000 block of Rivers Edge Rd., Helendale
SUSPECT(S): Dillon Mathews, 19 years of age a resident of Victorville, Timothy Tackett, 22 years of age a resident of Helendale, Shane Sermeno 25 years of age a resident of Helendale.
VICTIM: 63 year old female, resident of Lenwood.
SUMMARY:
On Friday, September 29, 2017 at approximately 9:00 a.m., deputies from the Barstow Sheriff's Station responded to the 25000 block of Eaton Avenue in Lenwood reference a stolen vehicle report. The victim reported sometime during the night, unknown suspect(s) stole her 2013 Honda Accord which was parked and locked in her driveway. The victim also informed deputies she left her purse in the vehicle which contained cash, ATM card and credit cards. The victim contacted her credit card company and was able to provide deputies with times and business names of where her credit card was used.
Deputies used this information to recover video surveillance from businesses in Barstow, Silver Lakes, and Victorville where the suspects used the card. With this information, deputies with the assistance of San Bernardino County Probation, conducted a probation search at the 14000 block of La Paz Drive on October 5, 2017. Deputies arrested Dillon Mathews for possession of a stolen vehicle and fraudulent use of access card. He was booked at High Desert Detention Center.
On October 10, 2017, deputies continued their investigation and served a search warrant at the 14000 block of Rivers Edge Road. Deputies arrested Timothy Tackett and Shane Sermeno for possession of a stolen vehicle. During the service of the search warrant, evidence was obtained of a possible unreported crime out of Barstow. Detectives assigned to the case are actively following up on that case.
