FEMALE ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE DRUG RELATED OFFENSES

On October 8, 2017, Deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Highway 421 and State Road 14, near the town of Medaryville, Indiana.

During the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Kimberly Mitchell, 54, of Francesville, Indiana. Deputies speaking with Mitchell at her vehicle detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Mitchell exited the vehicle at the Deputy’s request after initially being uncooperative. A Marshal from the Medaryville Police Department arrived to assist with the incident.

While standing outside of the vehicle Mitchell was observed to be in possession of a knife. The officers requested to secure the knife for the safety of Mitchell and the officers. Mitchell was observed removing an unknown object from her pocket as officers were attempting to secure the knife. Mitchell then began physically resisting the officers as she refused to release the item she had removed from her pocket. Officers were able to retrieve the item Mitchell removed from her pocket and found the item to be a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.

Upon further investigation, officer recovered additional methamphetamine as well as marijuana, controlled substances, and items consistent with the sale or distributing of marijuana, controlled substances, and methamphetamine.

Mitchell was transported the to the Pulaski County Jail where she was booked in on the initial charges of Dealing Methamphetamine, Level 3 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 5 Felony, Dealing in Marijuana, Level 6 Felony, Dealing in Controlled Substance, Level 6 Felony, Possession of a Legend Drug, Level 6 Felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony, Possession of Marijuana, Class A Misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Class A Misdemeanor, Resisting Law Enforcement, Class A Misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
