Curb your dog Ordinance information
Due to some questions we have recieved from residents regarding dogs, we would like to clarify and correct a previous post regarding the Borough's prohibited actions of animals ordinance: Borough Ordinance 105-12B (1-7) states that:
No person shall allow their dog to run at large within the limits of the borough,
Be off premises of the owner without a leash
Create a hazardous safety or health condition,
Cause and injury to any person
Cause a nuisance
Deficate on any public without immediate removal and disposal of feces
Congegate, walk or deficate on any private property without the owners permission
Habitually bark, howl or cry
Do any damage or defecate on any public or private property, sidewalk, play area, park, tree or shrub within the borough.
This means that all dogs must remain on a leash while walking, No Dogs (except certified service dogs) are permitted on school grounds or town fields/playgrounds. Also, residents should be aware that this includes private property and residences as well. If you curb your dog anywhere within the borough, you must immediately remove all feces and dispose of it in the garbage.
We appreciate your cooperation with keeping Harrington Park clean and safe for all residents, including our beloved animals.
