Analy evacuation center for able-bodied people to close tomorrow at noon unless circumstances change.
Dear Friends,
The Analy High School Evacuation Center remains operational with approximately 70 evacuees. Those with special medical or other needs (about 24) are lodged in the Small Gym and others (about 46) are lodged in the Larger Gym. The Analy Evacuation Center telephone number is 329-6524.
After consultation with the City of Santa Rosa and the County of Sonoma E.O.C.'s, as well as the Red Cross, we will be closing the larger gym housing able-bodied people by noon tomorrow. That closure can be modified if circumstances require it.
The small gym will remain up and operational through Saturday at noon unless conditions warrant otherwise.
The California National Guard has a presence at Analy High School, Hessel Church and St. Stephen's Church. They are there to provide logistical support. For example, they will be tasked with taking down over 400 cots tomorrow afternoon if the closure goes as planned.
At this point, the Analy Evacuation Center DOES NOT need any more donations of anything. They have stopped accepting donations. The small number of needs are being routed through the E.O.C. The Community Disaster Response Team is sorting the donations they've received so they can eventually be transferred to the Santa Rosa shelters.
The winds should be calm tonight with wind speeds of 10 to 15 MPH on the valley floor.
