Update: Suspect in custody in early morning shooting in the 1400 block of Eastlake Parkway.
**Update**
CVPD arrested 18 year old CV resident Christian Olmos this morning for Robbery, Residential Burglary, and assault with a deadly weapon.
This morning, at approximately 0818 hours, CVPD responded to a shooting at 1430 Eastlake Parkway. Both Eastlake HS and Olympic View Elementary were briefly placed on lockdown which was lifted within an hour.
Olmos, attempted to steal alcohol from the Walgreens. Staff tried to prevent him from doing so and followed him out of the store. At one point, Olmos pulled out a handgun, threatened staff and eventually relinquished the alcohol. Staff continued to follow Olmos through the parking lot. When they neared Eastlake Parkway, Olmos again pointed the handgun at the victim (Staff) and fired one round, fortunately missing him. Olmos then fled into a nearby apartment complex where he was located and arrested without incident by CVPD officers. He was in possession of a loaded handgun. During the investigation, officers learned Olmos had committed a residential burglary in the 1300 block of Santa Rita several hours earlier, taking the handgun from the residence. The gun was the only item taken.
Olmos was booked into county jail on the above listed charges.
