Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 10/13/17, through Sunday, 10/15/17.
10/13/17
-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Theft. A deputy responded to a residence regarding a theft report. The complainant reported a lawn mower was taken. A report was taken and the matter is under investigation.
-2000 blk Commerce, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to the area in reference to a disturbance between two individuals. The matter was determined to be verbal only and parties were separated. No offenses were reported.
-4900 blk Alaska Rd, Levelland: Noise Complaint. Deputies were dispatched to the area regarding a noise complaint. The issue was handled and no further calls were received.
-200 blk Peach, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to locate a possible reckless driver on Hwy 114 east of Levelland. The vehicle was located and a traffic contact was initiated after the deputy observed traffic violations. The driver was identified and found to have a felony warrant. The individual was also placed under arrest for Possession Controlled Substance, and Violation of Protective Order, along with the warrant for Aggravated Assault. The individual was transported to the jail without incident.
10/14/17
-Hwy 84 at FM 168, Anton: Assist DPS. A deputy assisted a trooper by transporting an individual to the jail to be booked on a charge.
-FM 2378 at Hw 114, Smyer: Loose Livestock. A deputy was notified of a loose horse in the area. The owner was contacted and the horse was secured. It was found to be in Lubbock County.
-1000 blk 11th St, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to the area to assist PD with a reported shots fired call. The deputy did not locate anyone related to the call.
-Hwy 114 at Cochran Co Line: Assist EMS. A deputy responded to the area to assist with a male subject transporting his wife due to a medical condition. EMS responded and deputies assisted at the scene.
-2nd St at Avenue J, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to the area to assist after an individual fled from PD officers. The deputy assisted with evidence recovery and one individual was detained by officers.
10/15/17
-3500 blk FM 300, Levelland: Alarm. A deputy was dispatched to the area regarding an alarm. The building was checked and found to be secure.
-3200 blk FM 300, Levelland: Theft. A deputy was notified of a theft of records from a church. Information for a report was taken and the matter is under investigation.
-US 62/82 at FM 2378, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a reckless driver along the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
-Hwy 114 at Avenue H, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy checked the area to locate a reported reckless driver. The vehicle was located and the deputy conducted a traffic contact in the 200 blk College Avenue. Based on the investigation, the driver was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated with Child Passenger and transported to the jail. The child and passenger were released to other individuals.
-900 blk Robin Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Person. A deputy responded to the area after receiving information about a suspicious person. The individual was contacted and stated he ran out of gas. A resident provided a small amount of gas to allow the driver to get to a gas station. The information was logged. No offenses were reported.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, investigative follow ups, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 10/16/17 at 0800 hours: 60 in Hockley County, 8 to be processed, 4 out-of-county.
