Please be aware that there have been sightings of a coyote in the area of Blue Ridge Cemetery and along North Church Street near Altamont Avenue. The town will be attempting to have the coyote trapped and removed, but in the meantime follow a few common sense rules:
Please cover all your trash cans securely. Do not place pet food outdoors. Do not let pets roam around outdoors. Do not let small children play out doors unsupervised.
If you see the coyote do not approach it. If the coyote acts in an aggressive manner please call animal control at 301-600-1603 or the Thurmont Police Department at 301-600- 2071.
